Our Completion Rate
Occasionally, we are asked about our completion rate. This is an interesting statistic to try to glean from a search firm as there is no consistent standard to determine the rate. Additionally, the numbers are self reported. That is, there is no independent body, like an auditor, verifying the rate. So, the search firm can report whatever it wants. The following is our definition of completion:
•
|
Successful with hire: The is self explanatory. We completed the assignment and someone was hired. |
| • |
Successful without hire: The client either cancelled the search
or reorganized. Or, something else happened. No one was hired, and the
client did not blame us. |
| • |
Unsuccessful: We tried and tried. We had candidates, but for whatever reason, no hire was made.
|
For four years, 2005 to 2010, we conducted 345 searches. Following are our results:
•
|
Successful with or without hire: 91.5% |
| • |
Unsuccessful: 8.5% |
| • |
Total: 100% |
We
think this is a good number, but we have no way to compare. We know of
only one other search firm, CTPartners, which posts its placement rate.
Its Web site reflected Aug. 31, 2011, that it had an 83% record.
